Hackn3t online rezidencija: Ian Keaveny - The ethics of sources
Hacklab01 i Format C predstavljaju prvu u nizu mrežnih umjetničkih rezidencija orijentiranih novomedijskom umjetničkom hakiranju. Cilj hackn3t online rezidencija je uz korištenje dijeljenih sučelja i mrežne prisutnosti u formatu javno dostupnih online sastanaka pokazati svakodnevnu praksu digitalnih novomedijskih umjetnica i umjetnika. Rezidencija će se odvijati od 22. - 28. lipnja, svakoga dana, s početkom u 17:00h. Umjetnik Ian Keaveny će u dnevnim mrežnim sesijama predstaviti svoj rad i praksu.
Ian Keaveny rođen je u Engleskoj. Studirao je likovnu umjetnost na Winchester School of art. Radnih 90ih seli se u irski okrug Offaly gdje živi i radi. Umjetnik o samoj rezidenciji:
Opća tema koju sam izabrao za ovu online rezidenciju jest "The ethics of sources" (Etika izvora) - istraživanje pronalaženja izvora za rad s internetskim ili starijim medijima i demonstracije tehnika koje svakodnevno koristim u vlastitom radu koji ilustrira kako izvor može odrediti što mu se može učiniti kroz format ili sadržaj, te kako se različite tehnike mogu prilagoditi određenom materijalu. Pri prvom razgovoru / demonstraciji kao izvore koristit ću film, snimke živih prijenosa vijesti, sadržaje s Youtubea te žive snimke koje ću tijekom tjedan dana rekonstruirati na različite načine. U finalnom mješovitom filmskom izvođenju u pravom vremenu koristit ću sve tehnike obrađene tijekom rezidencije.
Tijekom svojeg online boravka ispitat ću razloge i etiku / posljedice pribavljanja i ponovnog korištenja pronađenog materijala i odgovornosti prema materijalu općenito iz perspektive otvorenog koda i Creative Commons-a te govoriti o autorskom pravu i svojim stavovima prema njemu te kako ono mijenja remix kulturu, ponajviše Glitch umjetnost.
Rezidencijalni boravak započinje u ponedjeljak 22.06. u 17:00 (CEST) na linku objavljenom ovoj stranici.

Hackn3t online residency: Ian Keaveny - The ethics of sources
Hacklab01 and Format C present the first in a series of online artist residencies oriented toward new media art hacking. The goal of hackn3t online residencies is to show the everyday practice of digital new media artists by using online presence with desktop sharing in the form of publicly accessible online conference calls. The residency will take place from 22nd to 28th June 2020, every day, starting at 5pm (CEST). Our guest artist Ian Keaveny will present his work and practice in daily online sessions.
Ian Keaveny, born In England. Studied fine art at Winchester School of art. Lived in and around Co. Offaly since moving to Ireland in the early 90’s. Exhibited Painting, Film and Glitch art nationally and internationally. More about the artist on his blog Paintings are stories [http://paintingsarestories.blogspot.com/].
The artist about the residency:
The general theme I’ve chosen for this online residency is ‘The ethics of sources’ - an exploration of finding sources to work with from online or older legacy media and demonstrations of techniques that I use on an everyday basis in my own work illustrating how a source can determine what can be done to it through format or content and also how various techniques can be suited to specific material. During the first talk/demonstration I will source film, news footage from live broadcast, Youtube content and from live capture and subsequently distress and recreate these in different ways over the course of subsequent days to end in a final live real time mixed film performance using the techniques covered.
During my online stay I will also be examining the reasons for and the ethics/consequences of sourcing and reusing found material and our responsibilities to the material from an open source perspective and a Creative Commons aspect and talk a little about copyright and my attitudes towards it and how that relates to remix culture and Glitch art in particular.
